David Jones

Founder & Director

Dave co-founded Jones & Son Pest Control Supplies Ltd with his wife, Kursty in 1997. Using his extensive knowledge of pest control, he spotted a gap in the market for British manufactured quality bird control products and Defender® Bird Spikes was born. Dave invents, innovates and patents all the Defender® range.

Dave loves a learning curve and thinks he is probably the best Welsh disco dancer in Devon.

Kursty Jones

Founder & Director

Kursty runs Jones & Son alongside her husband Dave, helping to bring his ideas and inventions to reality. She manages all the health & safety and HR and is particularly proud of encouraging women in the industry and being a family-orientated company. She works closely with Holly in marketing, IT, web design and social media.

Kursty loves walking, keeping fit and the odd glass of sparkle.

Holly Truhol

Projects Manager

Holly has been with us over 10 years and brings a freshness and clarity of vision to everything she produces. As a highly skilled illustrator, she designs and co-ordinates all our marketing, web design, IT and social media projects. Holly does all the photography herself and is hoping to explore the medium of videography next.

Holly loves exploring the Devon countryside in her caravan with her young family and dog called Rudie.

Jazmin Smith & Abi Ward

Sales and Office Manager and Sales Supervisor

Jazmin and Abi run the sales desk and are often the first people customers speak to either online or via email. Jaz prides herself on the close personal relationships she has built with our trade customers, and Abi loves dealing with bird problems and sorting accounts for our new customers. They have extensive knowledge and are always super cheerful and friendly.

Jazmin loves walking on Dartmoor and working out in her home gym.

Abi loves spending time with her family and studying criminology.

Cyle Paton

Admin Assistant

Cyle is our admin assistant who helps organise Kursty, Holly and Davy. He is a great asset to the team, sorting out our filing so we can find things again, editing video footage and working on secret projects with Dave.

Cyle loves gaming and developing games.

Mike Jones

Warehouse Manager

Mike is Dave’s brother and oversees the day-to-day running of the warehouse, storage and stock control. He packs up the daily orders ready for collection by our couriers.

Mike loves computer gaming and watching all types of sports.

Paula & Bob Revill

Assistant Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Assistant

Paula and Bob are a husband and wife team who both work in our warehouse. Paula oversees the bird spike assemblers, manages the despatch of e-commerce products and helps put together customer orders. She also oversees her husband Bob, who takes deliveries, increases morale, and carefully packages up bird spikes for the different e-commerce markets.

Paula loves making vegetables from crochet and knits her own jumpers.

Bob loves Paula and playing with lego.

Cassie & Taya Al’Yami

Warehouse Assemblers

Our mother and daughter team are skilled at assembling Defender® Bird Spikes by hand. They live within walking distance of our Devon warehouse, and Cassie often brings tempting treats for us all, which no one can resist.

Cassie loves reading and making her own pastries.

Taya loves a good walk around a National Trust garden.

Helen Barlow & Nicola Mears

Warehouse Assemblers

Helen and Nicola assemble our spikes ready for despatch. Helen prefers making the narrow pinned Defender® Bird Spike where she clicks the individual pins into the base. Nicola is the only person who chooses to assemble the Defender® Post and Wire strips, something to do with the use of a hammer!

Helen loves knitting with her home-dyed wool and crafting.

Nicola loves motorbikes and being barefoot.

Ben

Production Engineer

Ben is a talented engineer that runs and maintains the machines that make all our wire pins and plastic bird spike bases. He is fantastic at CAD and uses it to make all of Davey's bird spike inventions a reality.

Ben loves anything technical and enjoys tinkering with machinery and engines.
