Protecting a Car Park from Pigeons

Carl and Craig’s winning entries couldn’t have been more different, but both show the same level of care, professionalism and attention to detail. The first project took place in a busy multi-storey car park where pigeons had been causing chaos for years. Anyone who has parked under a nesting site knows the damage guano can do — corroded paintwork on cars, slippery walkways, and serious hygiene issues. Before any spikes went down, the team carried out a full biocide clean to create a safe environment. Only then did they install an impressive 250 metres of Defender® Wide Stainless Steel Bird Spikes, fixing them securely along I-beams and ducting with our very own Defender® Fixing Silicone. The result is a space that is now protected from pigeons and much safer for the public.
