Defender Jaws® Mounting Bracket Guards
Solar panel mounting brackets can create larger openings beneath the panel frame. If the gap beneath a mounting bracket is greater than 50mm, pigeons may be able to push past the surrounding protection.
The Mounting Bracket Guards are designed to provide additional protection beneath these vulnerable areas. One guard should be used beneath each affected mounting bracket or spur.
This starter kit contains eight guards. Additional Mounting Bracket Guards can be purchased separately if your solar panel array requires more.
50mm Gap Testing Kit
Checking the gaps around the complete solar panel array is an important part of any successful bird proofing installation.
The 50mm Gap Testing Kit helps you identify openings that could allow pigeons to gain access beneath the panels. Any gap greater than 50mm may require additional protection before the installation is considered complete.
Always check the sides, corners and areas surrounding mounting brackets carefully. Even one unprotected opening could provide pigeons with an access point.
Professional Snipping Tool
The professional snipping tool makes it easier to trim Defender Jaws® cleanly and accurately during installation.
Defender Jaws® strips feature moulded snip guides, allowing sections to be shortened, corners to be finished neatly and individual prongs to be adjusted to suit undulating roof tiles.
Defender Jaws Plushie Shark
Every Starter Kit also includes our exclusive Defender Jaws® plushie shark. It might not be much help with the installation, but it makes a fun mascot for your home, desk or to give to the kids!
Designed for Defender Jaws® Solar Panel Bird Excluders
Defender Jaws® provide an innovative alternative to traditional solar panel mesh. The patented one piece strips lock directly onto compatible 30mm and 35mm solar panel frames, without glue, screws or separate external clips.
The system is manufactured in Devon using UV stabilised black polycarbonate and is covered by a 15 Year Material Warranty.

The number of Mounting Bracket Guards required will depend on the layout of the solar panel array and the number of vulnerable mounting brackets. Inspect the entire perimeter carefully before completing the installation.
Solar panel bird proofing should only be carried out where the roof can be accessed safely. Do not disturb active nests or trap birds beneath the solar panels.
